Unless you have been living under a rock, there is no doubt that you have noticed that one of the most popular new beauty trends as of late has been eyelash extensions. Becoming a huge part of most people’s normal beauty routine, getting your lashes done is common practice. A fabulous way to accentuate your natural lashes, eyelash extensions look incredible while saving you time and energy from having to regularly apply false lashes. By getting lashes, you can skip the mascara too! One of the greatest perks of purchasing eyelash extensions is that they are available in so many varieties and styles, so you are sure to find the perfect pair for your taste. Natural and classic, too overdramatic and glamorous, you can take your look to the next level. The type of extension to get really depends on your desired effect, with the extensions themselves varying in colour, weight and length. The eyelash extensions that are available in salons are done by individual lashes being glued to your natural lashes, rather than the strip lashes that many people apply at home. These individual lashes are layered until they have the desired effect, with an adhesive that is both waterproof and generally black so that it blends into the lashes. While this method can be tedious, the effect it has is absolutely incredible and when you are getting them professionally applied, it is a great way to just lie back, relax and after a bit of time has passed, walk out with incredible lashes.
How to Care for your Eyelash Extensions
Unfortunately, like most good things in life, eyelash extensions cannot last forever. Just like how our real eyelashes do, the extensions will eventually shed and if you want to maintain them, they do require regular infills. Like most things though, the better you do look after them, the longer they will last. The general time between appointments is two to four weeks, so if you want to be able to push it out to the four-week mark, there are some precautions you can take to ensure that your eyelash extensions last. After you first get them done the number one thing to avoid is to touch them. Oils in our skin can transfer onto the lashes, putting strain on the root as it will make them heavier. In the first twenty-four to thirty-six hours, keep them dry and try to avoid any environments that are hot, humid and steamy. This is because the heat can cure the adhesive and make the lashes shed prematurely. Make sure you try to switch to oil free products on your face if you are planning to get eyelash extensions and make sure if you do have oily skin, you are taking care of it and trying to keep the oils under control to avoid them also attaching to the lashes. Always follow the instructions for after care from the lash tech as well, as they will tell you best how to get the longest life out of them- keeping them beautiful and glamorous.
Rebel Gold is proud to announce that throughout November, we are raising funds to support the Movember initiative. We are always big supports of Movember as it supports our brothers and brings much needed light and attention to men’s health. Five dollars from every Movember face mask sold will go towards Movember, and you can also donate directly to the cause by going to https://movember.com/m/rblgldlashes?mc=1. If you want to help support Movember more than just financially, there are some things you can pass onto the men around you to help them improve their health. Encourage them to have “Man time”, ie. catch up with their friends, chat regularly and be there for each other. A simple check in and talk can help save somebody’s life. By letting your mates know you are there for them and willing to listen, can really help break the stigma of asking for help. Let them know the numbers too, at forty-five and fifty, it is time to start getting regular prostate checks. Early detection is the best way to overcome any issues so having regular checks can also save a life. This also applies to testicles as well. We know, we know. We tell the guys to stop fiddling but having them check and get to know what is normal and what is not can also be the way to detect any issues early. Finally encouraging the men in your life to get active. Moving more, getting out there and doing things that make you feel good is one of the best things anybody can do for their life, regardless of gender.
